BMP Windows drivers missing digital signature

Post by edogaldo » Wed Jun 28, 2017 1:32 pm

Dears, I tried searching the site but couldn't find a solution: I set up a BMP blue pill and I'm trying to use it on a Windows 8.1 machine.
When I plug in the BMP blue pill in my machine I can see the corresponding entries in the device manager with an exclamation mark stating a driver is required.
I found BMP Windows driver here but when I try to istall it I get attached error message claiming the driver is not digitally signed.
On the BMP Github I found reference to PR 175 which seems to suggest a solution for digital signature issue but I couldn't understand how to use the suggestions provided.
Is there anybody who successfully signed the BMP driver and can help in solving this issue?

Thanks in advance and best regards, E.

2 things you can try..

1. In my GitHub account, I have an old copy of BMP. Look for the repo called blackmagicprobe archive_version
In there, somewhere are the old Windows drivers.
Most people seem to think they install,

2. Alternatively, look at the windows driver installer in my STM32 repo.
It has a bat file that installs the DFU driver and the Serial driver

If you look in the bat file, you will see it calls libwdi and passes some parameters. So you can just change the names and the IDs and it will work for the BMP.

Note which VID/PID is the dfu and which are the Serial ports, as the libwdi commands have different arguments for the different driver types

Thank you Roger!
I tried using libwdi as you suggested, it seems it successfully installed the DFU driver but now the Serial ports disappeared.

Is there any tutorial on how to use "wdi-simple.exe"?

Libwdi is from GitHub.

I did not build that utility, someone posted it to the forum.

You would need to search the forum to e.g. Via google to find the thread
