Hello everybody
The last measurement I took showed a loss of 3 minutes over one day.
Not knowing if I was going to succeed, I set about desoldering pins PC14 and PC15 between the STM32 board and the PCB. Not easy, but I succeeded.
But what a satisfaction ! Since yesterday, my LSE clock has lost ...

STM32F103C8 and bad LSE clock
Hello everybody,
I'm using an STM32F103C8 board on a PCB. All the pins on the STM32F103C8 are soldered to the PCB, including PC14 and PC15.
The frequency from the LSE clock is such that it loses about 2 minutes per day, which is enormous. Do you think this is due to the parasitic capacitances ...

Tank you very much "GonzoG" for this explanation and example.

STM32F103C8 and EEPROM
Hello everybody,
According to what I've read and misunderstood, in an STM32F103C8, there would be no EEPROM but there would be a way to save a few bytes in it. My need is reduced to one byte.
Can you tell me how to save it (write every 15 days, or even less) and read every day.
Thanks for your ...

Re: STM32F103C8 and LSE clock
I went back to LSI mode (without pressing the “reset” button) where I noticed a huge discrepancy between this clock and my PC's clock.
I then switched back to LSE mode (still without pressing the “reset” button) and my STM32 clock wisely came back to follow my PC's clock.

STM32F103C8 and LSE clock
Hello everyone,
To have an accurate clock with the STM32F103C8, I use the LSE mode.
Before doing so, I used LSI mode and I noticed a significant drift with my PC clock, for example.
I switched to LSE mode and ran my tests again: I didn't notice any improvement.

Migration of a symbol
Hello everyone,
I'm working with Kicad version 8.0.3.
I have a symbol I'd like to modify, but it's not editable as it is. I read that it needs to be migrated. The documentation talks about this, but doesn't say how to do it.
Can you tell me how to do it ?
Best regards.
Pierre.

Re: Discharging the battery for the FSE clock
Thank you for all this information, which clarifies the difference between these two circuits.
However, what I retain for a "newby" like me, is that the 411 can replace a 103 with more power, more speed and more memory.
Sincerely.
Pierre.

Re: Discharging the battery for the FSE clock
...This feature is not there in the stm32f103. But that stm32f4 has a different RTC, and different structure for the registers.
I've seen that there are STM32F411-based boards https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005006127461676.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.1.29b3UriPUriPFg&algo_pvid=6335e4ed-da8e ...
