Re: Update some security settings

What good do you expect to come from the password expiry time?

Just seems like a bother i've not seen on any other forum yet. I use a password manager, so it's not that much of an issue for me, but i can't fathom why you'd enable that.

Re: Say goodbye to Bluepill, say hello to RP2040

Yeah, at the pricepoint of the picos, and the individual chips also being available at an affordable price, it can mean quite a shift.

I'm currently happy with the 401/411 blackpills, but if the same stuff happens as with the bluepills...

Let's hope they don't start making conterfeit rp2040's XD

Re: Common Pitfalls designing a custom board?

I'm not sure if there are any real big pitfalls for custom design boards. The best advice probably is looking at the schematics of existing boards for examples of whatever you want to add to your board, that's always a good start. One of the issues i had on one of my first boards was not enough capa...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W

I'm using a raspberry pi zero here just for my zigbee usb stick, and i like the smaller form factor for that :).
3d printed a nice case for it. I've also seen a small handheld made around the zero, it does make sense for some cases where the size really makes it more convenient :)

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W

... I really feel like i'm having a conversation with a brick wall here. How many more sources do i have to cite that measure the actual peak power, which never exceeds 500mA. ... Yes. We know but other than form-factor, this thing is not a "Zero" and calling it a Zero is blatant misrepre...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W

except for one thing: the 5V@2.5A power requirements. I really feel like i'm having a conversation with a brick wall here. How many more sources do i have to cite that measure the actual peak power, which never exceeds 500mA. Yes, someone somewhere wrote a 2.5A power supply is recommended. That doe...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W

A quick google search showed me this article that claims the pi zero 2 is the most power efficient raspberry pi so far: https://hackaday.com/2021/11/01/the-pi-zero-2-w-is-the-most-efficient-pi/ and if you want to make it even more power efficient, here's how to disable some cores on it: https://www....

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W

Unfortunately for any SBC you have to size your power supply for peak (not average) power consumption. So having a tiny SBC with a relatively large peak power requirement of 5V@2.5A kind of defeats the whole purpose of the small size. but the 2W is peak consumption during GPU/CPU stress tests. That...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W

Indeed when one reads the specs for the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, everything looks dandy, until one gets to the power requirements: 5V @ 2.5A! :o Uhhh, What? Yes: 5V @ 2.5A . And that's a pity, because with a lower power consumption this RPi Zero 2 W could have found a home in a much larger number of ...

Re: Sim racing wheel

Maybe you can look into some basic electronics. If for all your digital buttons you'd use a shift register (or multiple ones daisy chained), you can have as many buttons as you want at the cost of 3 or 4 pins in total. Here's an arduino tutorial example: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/Foundation...
