Re: Discharging the battery for the FSE clock

The STM32 I use was purchased on 23/02/2018. That's 6 years ! When the STM32 is not powered, by placing a 10 k resistor in series with the CR2032, I measured, using an oscilloscope connected to the resistor terminals, a current of 12 µA to which is added a current of 1.8 µA if I connect the PA0 inp...

Re: Discharging the battery for the FSE clock

apparently, there are some defective stm32f103 distributed out in the flea markets I've got a stm32f103 that drains a cr2032 running VBAT in a few days ! (actually I think some board makers did not check if there could be shorts on their boards) then the next one it last more than a year, my guess i...

Re: STM32G431 vs STM32F411

G431 has DAC, OpAmp and Comparators
less sram and flash

Re: Krimskrams: STM32G431 and OLED

I did a review of the ssd1306 datasheet, this is found from a google search from adafruit's web site https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/datasheets/SSD1306.pdf Apparently, there is no specific commands for the ssd1306 lcd to do a software reset. The only thing documented apparently is 8.5 reset circuit (p...

Re: Krimskrams: STM32G431 and OLED

I remembered that I used Adafruit's library https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_SSD1306 I remembered I encountered that 'reset' issue once. Apparently, if I remember that situation, the lib sends a 'software reset' via i2c. I couldn't figure out what went wrong, but I tried with the 'reset pin' opt...

Re: SSD1306 OLED STM32f411 not connecting

STM32ardui I think I've encountered similar issues with SSD1306 (e.g. those modules bought on Aliexpress) https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-ssd1306.html But that I've got one that has the reset pin on the headers and I connected that and used a PAxx gpio pin to drive that reset pin, no issues ...

Re: SSD1306 OLED STM32f411 not connecting

if there is no reset pin, and you define OLED_RESET, it just don't reset the lcd
it probably works, but it is unknown if there may be situations if reset is after all required.

Re: Krimskrams: STM32G431 and DAC

my guess is for some light loads it may take an Op Amp as the output 'driver' https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/video-tutorials/op-amp-applications-voltage-follower/ I think LMV358 (note not LM358, rather LM(V)358 rail-to-rail) is adequate for that https://www.ti.com/product/LMV358 lm358 would need a...

Re: ST-LINK V2.1 doesn't connect COM port for serial monitor

blue pill (stm32f103) doesn't have DFU, but that it can be programmed on uart1 pa9 tx pa10 rx. normally for the 'old' blue pill (stm32f103), boot0 (and boot1) are *jumpers*, and boot0 has to remain at gnd, if one do not want to trip stm32f103 into programming mode, especially if pa9 tx and pr10 rx i...

Re: ST-LINK V2.1 doesn't connect COM port for serial monitor

remember 2 usb (phone) cables, 1 goes to programmer (e.g. st-link v2), the other goes to the board (this is your serial com port) that USB (CDC) Serial thing. about that weact st-link v2 dongle, if you want to use the comm (uart) port, you would need to connect e.g. PA9 tx PA10 rx to separate pins o...
