You are right: I used a 6mm MDF plate (called screen printing plate) - and leveled it with a 12mm bit (and drilled some holes with drive in nuts):

Done within 30 minutes and a perfect surface.

Re: GRBL STM32duino?
I bought this one (free EU shipping so no taxes or something for me): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33003313338.html I opposite to other 3040 (or 3020) this one has SFU1204 ball screws % NEMA23. The 500W spindle is "ok". Good enough for wood and good enough for PCBs Stepper & spindle...

Re: GRBL STM32duino?
I think Marlin (and even Repetier) didn't ever do the jump to the CNC world, both of them can be used for years for CNCing. It's all about the programs and the supported firmware and on the "freeware/open-source sector" there's GRBL. But here it ends. There are plenty much control software...

Re: Quick summary?
Could someone say what are the main differences between this core and Roger's? Support for F3 (especially for the Robotdyn blackpill STM32F303CCT6 ) Far better support for F4. Maybe some more optimizations (years ago Steves core was most advantaged with DMA / SPI...) no real further development on ...

Re: Bluepill is dead! Long lives the Blackpill or BlackBluepill
Apart from my angry other thread -> https://www.stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=127 , I didn't wanted to start another "hall of shame" thread, but a "hall of fame" thing. Unfortunately, at the moment there is no insurance to get a 100% working bluepill, regardless of which...

Re: GRBL STM32duino?
Ok, thanks for your answers. I own my CNC since November last year and I'm really surprised, that there are so many firmware / control software / CAMS's. ... out. There is no semi standard like on 3D printing: Repetier & Marlin as standard firmware, Cura, Slic3r and (these strange $$$ thing - $i...

GRBL STM32duino?
After fighting (G31 probe command ) with really bad designed and closed source USB-parallel Adapters for my CNC (in particular: NC200 / RTM200) and due the fact, that GRBL is using the old fashioned ATmega328 i researched a bit about a GRBL conversation for ARM (better STM32), but I'm a little bit d...

Bluepill is dead! Long lives the Blackpill or BlackBluepill
After struggling with all of those fake/counterfeit stm32f103c8xx chips nowadays found on the "classic" bluepills (see this thread ---> https://www.stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=127 ) with dropout quotes from 28 of 30, I decided to buy some of Robotdyn Black/bluepills: https://rob...

Re: STM32F103C8T6: Confirmation of counterfeiting by ST
Update Aliexpress does not accept evidence I posted the original statement of ST to Aliexpress while in dispute. Aliexpress rejected the dispute with this words: "Evidence is not clear enough to show the problems" So Aliexpress customer service cowards spit on buyers and last aid to sell ...

Re: STM32F103C8T6: Confirmation of counterfeiting by ST
Alain: I know that there are many more fakes around, but I needed an official statement for my dispute on Aliexpress. Sadly these ****** closed the dispute BEFORE I got the evidence mail from ST. After that I wrote with the support of Ali, only friendly words, "we will do!..." blah. So: ON...
