ST-Link V2 on macOS Monterey with M1 Chip

Post by tsingtao »

Hi everybody,
does anybody know how to operate the ST-Link V2 on macOS Monterey with M1 Chip?
I'm using the Arduino IDE 1.8.19 and have installed the Sduino STM8 plain C core.
All is fine, I can choose the correct board and the programmer.
I can successful compile the sketch but no upload to the device, a common STM8SF103F3P6, is possible.
I just get the info, that no programmer is installed.
Thanks for your support!

ST-Link V2 on macOS Monterey with M1 Chip

I was able to install and use the ST-Link V2 on my M1 Macbook Pro running macOS Monterey using the Zip archive from the ST website.

The driver that comes with the archive is not compatible with the M1 chip, so I had to download the latest version of the driver from the ST website.

Once I had the driver installed, I was able to connect the ST-Link V2 to my Mac and run the ST-Link utility.

The ST-Link utility allows me to flash and debug microcontrollers, which is a great way to get started with embedded development on the M1 Mac.FM Whatsapp
