A Noob question, what's the best online source of break out boards & electronic parts in Australia?

Hi, I moved to Sydney this year, and I decided to play with microcontrollers in my spare time. I used to buy them in taobao when I was in china where there are infinity supplement of them. I've tried aliexpress here, but the ship and deliver time can be up to 1 or 2 months, sometime I can't even track the parcel through online tracking system when they come, which is very anonying. Currently I'm doing a proj with multiple sensors and stm32f1, I ordered some wire, resistors, sensors, muxes, prototype boards on aliexpress, and they are still waiting for shipment.
If there happen to be some guys living in Australia, where is your best reliable, and quick delivery board source? Which store do you usually spend your bucks?

We have already said that breakout boards use integrated circuits. Integrated circuits are kind of like t-shirts – you can get them in all different sizes.

Usually breakout boards utilize a tiny version of an integrated circuit called an SMD (surface mounted device). The pins on SMD parts are really small – not something you can easily pop into a breadboard.

The larger form factor of an integrated circuit, called a DIP (dual inline package) has bigger pins, which fit easily into a breadboard. The DIP package of an IC will be bigger than the SMD form factor.

The point, I am getting to here, is that Breakout boards can sometimes save you space which may or may not be important for your project.


Another thing about using DIP packages is that while the pins are bigger, they are not necessarily sturdy. If you plan to use a DIP component over and over, the usable life of the pins is only so long – the pins on a breakout board however, are heavy duty and designed for reuse.

Op only wanted a local-to-Australia supplier as the slow-boat is even slower sailing to down-under. From the post, s/he has an understanding of components and electronic paraphernalia.

Anyway, after 10 months, I suspect some shop local to Australia was located.
