What about a STM8 core...?

I know that is probably a silly question, but is there any plan to do a STM8 "official" core?

Googling around I've read the STM8S207RBT6C specs, and may be I'll try it out in a custom dev. board.
It can be found around enough cheaply to be an interesting target at least for me to make a "new toy"...
